Entries & nominations for the Wales Legal Awards 2020 are now open!

The Wales Legal Awards are the only awards to recognise and celebrate excellence in the legal profession across Wales – showcasing exceptional talent, vision and commitment to clients in legal services – as well as services to the sector.

Award submissions should be made online, via our nominations page.

Deadline for entries: 17th May 2020, at midnight.

Due to the strict judging process, extensions cannot be granted.

Categories include: corporate and commercial law, real estate law, private client, residential and conveyancing law, criminal law, employment law and commercial litigation.

New categories for 2020!

This year, the Wales Legal Awards will include four new awards to cater for excellence in economically and socially significant legal specialisms in Wales: Personal Injury team of the year; Public Law Team of the Year; Law firm of the Year and Boutique Law Firm of the Year.

There will also be an overall award for the Welsh Legal Team of the Year, Rising Star of the Year and a special award that recognises one individual’s outstanding contribution to the Welsh legal profession.

Meet the judges

The nominations are judged by an expert, independent panel of esteemed judges from across the sector, including representatives from The Law Society Gazette, Presidents of regional law societies in Wales and Thomson Reuters, the awards identify excellence in all parts of the legal community. Once a shortlist is created, our judges take the time to interview each shortlisted team or individual to identify the category winners.

Our black tie awards ceremony returns the 11th September 2020 at the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel.

Over 450 guests will attend the evening, which includes a sparkly drinks reception, a 3-course dinner with half a bottle of wine pp, entertainment from Wales’ finest party band Brother Ray, and more. Leading firms, innovative legal market disruptors, service providers, our judges and sponsors will be in attendance and we hope to see you there too.

Tickets are offered to those shortlisted in the first instance (the shortlist will be announced at the end of May 2o20) and all other tickets will be allocate on a first come, first served basis.
