We’re going virtual!

The Wales Legal Awards 2020 ceremony will go virtual on Friday 11th September!

In light of the restrictions for large-scale events in Wales, the Wales Legal Awards 2020 team has created a new format for our awards ceremony this year.

Utilising the latest live-streaming technology, we will be working with event production specialists Genero Productions to broadcast live online on the evening of the awards.

Our Awards Ceremony is FREE to access via the live-streamed link (given upon booking). The new-format event for 2020 will ensure that whilst we can’t meet in person, our award finalists and winners will be celebrated in style and to an even greater audience on the night.

As well keeping everyone safe and well, our virtual awards ceremony allows us to have a far greater audience that can watch us live on their TV or device. There’s no limit to the number of bookings we can take so all your colleagues and finalists’ friends and family can also watch the live ceremony and see the finalists’ reactions!

We’ve been working hard to ensure this year’s awards go ahead to celebrate the achievements of the legal sector in Wales and provide a strong sense of community in uncertain times.

Help us celebrate the outstanding achievements of this year’s finalists by joining us online for our live-streamed virtual awards ceremony on Friday 11th September 2020.

Join us via Vimeo to watch the awards ceremony LIVE and for FREE from our Wales Legal Awards studio, via the link here or image below.

Live-linked to our award finalists!

Join us to hear what our judges had to say about the Finalists and winners, across all 18 categories, including our ‘Overall Team of the Year’ Award for the team that impressed our judges the most during our virtual interviews.

To ensure the event reflects the excitement of an awards ceremony, our finalists will join us separately from a live link. As winners are announced on the night, all the reactions will be live.

Law firms and individuals are welcome to have a socially distanced gathering in their office if they can and more information on this will be sent directly to the finalists.

The Ceremony

Chair of the 2020 Judging Panel, Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, will be joined by Co-Founder Charlotte Leyshon, to present the Wales Legal Awards 2020, live from a glamorous studio in South Wales.

Law firms and individual finalists will join us LIVE from our ‘Live Lounge’. They are welcome to have a socially distanced gathering in their office if they can. More information on this will be sent directly to the finalists.

Charlotte Leyshon, Founder of the Wales Legal Awards, said:

“In a way, the pandemic gave us the most incredible opportunity to get to know the teams behind the award submissions as it forced us to hold our finalist interviews virtually. This enabled us to really see the strength of our finalists’ submissions in action as well as get to know the people behind the service.

“Whilst we would have loved to have seen all the amazing finalists at the awards dinner again, current regulations mean that we will have to wait until next year to do that. However, we are thrilled to work with Genero Productions and make our virtual ceremony one to be remembered in its own right, and truly valued by our finalists.”

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, Chairman of the Wales Legal Awards judging panel, said:

“We are honoured to work alongside imitable panel of judges whose commitment to the awards and their significant expertise is to be commended.

“We would also like to thank our award sponsors for all their support, time and unique insight on the market throughout the judging process. The finalists made their task of picking a winner for each category incredibly hard as interviews demonstrated that the level of talent, leadership, creativity and client care in the legal sector in Wales is inspirational.”

Sarah Castle, Divisional Head of Legal, Yolk Recruitment (Headline Sponsor of the 2020 awards), said:

“We are extremely pleased to be such a big part of the Wales Legal Awards again this year and delighted that it’s gone ahead, despite the current climate. We have such exceptional talent in the legal sector in Wales and this really came through in the applications and during the interviews this year.

“It’s really encouraging to see that the market has pulled together and gone above and beyond for each other and for its clients – it really does makes us proud to be headline sponsors and huge supporters of the law firms and in house teams across Wales.”

Our charity of the year: St David’s Hospice Care

The fundraising element of the Wales Legal Awards ceremony is incredibly important to us and to our charity of the year, St David’s Hospice Care. We encourage our ‘guests’ and finalists to make donation to help us raise funds for this essential and wonderful charity which needs our help, now more than ever.

If you’d like to donate via our Just Giving page, please visit: justgiving.com/fundraising/waleslegalawards20
